But it is necessary, before I begin to speak of the tribuneship of Publius
Sestius, to lay before you all the circumstances of the shipwreck of the
republic the preceding year; to the repairing which, and to the restoration
of the general safety all the words, and actions, and thoughts of Publius
Sestius will be found to have been devoted.
